DescriptionGreen wool faille suit jacket/coat with silk ottoman collar and a lace over trim on the collar, matching green wool frog closure, shaped sleeve cuffs with covered button embellishment. Usually worn with a hobble skirt. This green wool coat was purchased by Ella Cook, formerly of Star Valley, WYO., in Kenner Wyom. about 1913. The shawl collar, made of heavy ribbed fabric also originally covered the buttons. Lace over collar. Work with an edging of heavy cord. The chinese frog tripple fastener loop over the fabric covered buttons which accent the front of the coat front. A cumberbun style belt accents the waist with small buttons both front and back. The lower edge of the coat is cut higher in the front, dropping gracefully to knee length in the back. The sleeve is long with a wide cuff with tiny fabric covered buttons accent this beautiful piece of work was just made for the sophisticated young lady.
