Permanent Library Holdings Policy:

The university archives are held long-term in the McKay Library, and they exist to create an institutional memory for Brigham Young University-Idaho and its predecessors. Special Collections & Archives documents the role that Brigham Young University-Idaho has played in the worldwide growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its relationship with the local pioneer community. The Permanent Library Holdings Policy describes the material we actively acquire in regards to campus history.


Collection Development Policy:

The Collection Development Policy describes material we acquire and make available in the areas of local and church history, history of recordkeeping, and other areas of curricular and research interest.


Reading Room Rules:

Our rules for using the Special Collections Reading Room, consisting of procedures, policies, and how to handle Special Collections materials.


Class Orientations:

Special Collections has obtained a variety of unique and interesting artifacts, books, and objects. Call us ahead and we can put together a presentation based on what you and your class are interested in seeing.


Transferring Department Records:

Records Management provides information for transferring important, historical records to Special Collections and Archives, as well as general recordkeeping and retention guidelines for University Departments.
