Toast Brown Suit

Toast Brown Suit

Subjecttops (garments, general)
skirts (garments)
jackets (short coats)
DescriptionFrom Wilfod Fluckiger's store in Grover Wyo. Beige knit-button trim on skirt and bodice. This toast brown suite made about 1934 by Logan Knit Co. in Logan Utah is a classic. The style is set off by long rows of fabric covered buttons to be fastened when putting on. Each button is riveted in place and the placket cover cloth is snapped and also hooked shut. The completely lined sleeve indicates it is to be worn with the cuff folded up and buttoned. The buttoned top is also hooked and snapped at the waist and snapped at the neck, with a small shawl style collar folded down. Two small darts under the sleeve and the small gathered area at the front waist and across the back waist give a blousey effect. Tiny shoulder pads believed to have been originally in the suit along with an ornate pin of some type have been removed. A modern dress of this quality would probably cost about $150.
