DescriptionDress is composed of a Red velvet jacket and a green quilted skirt. The jacket has a mandarin collar and a two piece sleeve. Sleeve has an inch and a half cuff. Bodice front has two waist darts on each side. Bodice back has two rows of princess seams and a center back seam. Jacket was likely meant to be laced, there are ten button holes on the right side and twelve on the left. There are eight buttons on the left side as well. On the left side is a small patched pocket. Pinned to it a gold locket. The locket is about an inch and a half tall and an inch wide. It has a gold bow at top and flower decoration on front. Locket back is decorated with a diamond and flowers. Skirt is made of cotton fabric and was meant to be worn with a bustle. It has a brown two inch waist band with a two and a half inch yoke made of grey fabric. The rest of the skirt is made of five panels. The bottom of the skirt is quilted with pink thread and appliquéd with black velvet. The hem is the same black velvet. For a closure, it has a button in the back. The whole skirt is lined with green and brown cotton fabric.
