Underneath lace petals is another gathered black lace layer with three rows of black satin ribbon sewn in scallops. Bottom row of scallops is same length as above-layer lace petals. At neckline is a 4-layer collar made of: Top layer: 5" wide black lace with three rows of satin scallops |

| Bottom layer: 5" wide black lace with three rows of satin scallops, sewn to face shoulders. Inside of caplet lined with silk (*95% of silk has crumbled and fallen out), twill, gauze, perforated satinny paper. Behind outer beaded lace is lining with a soft tricot-like cream-colored fabric. "B. Altman" label at back neckline. |
