Many local newspapers are available for use online, with some issues available in the reading room. Microfilm copies of past editions of Idaho newspapers are located on the first floor, east wing of the McKay Library. For a complete listing, view newspapers on microfilm.

Rexburg Newspapers

The Rexburg Newspapers is a digital collection of newspapers published in Rexburg, Idaho from 1894 through June 2010. The titles of the newspapers in this collection include the Rexburg Silver Hammer, the Current Journal, the Rexburg Standard, the Rexburg Standard Journal, and the Standard Journal. This collection was digitized from a microfilm collection maintained by Brigham Young University-Idaho.


The Rigby Star

Includes The Rigby Star from approximately 1910-1975.                                                                                                                              


Blackfoot Newspapers

The Blackfoot, Idaho newspapers, including The Idaho News, ran in the late 1800s.                                                                                       


Idaho Falls Newspapers

The Idaho Falls, Idaho newspapers, including The Idaho Register, Idaho Falls Daily Post, The Times Register, and the Daily Post, ran in the early 1900s. In 1932 the newspapers still in print were combined under the Post Register. The Post Register continues to run today. Institutional login required for full access.
