Dior look, full skirt would have stiffened petticoat. Full skirts became popular after the war because fabric amount had been restricted.
Peach/pink evening dress with sequin and decorative thread embellishment, short sleeves, unique tuck shirring below bust, asymmetrical front-only peplum, fabric belt. Softly draped formal with sequin trim. Shoulder pads from World War II: influence of women taking over men's work. Skirt is straight with a slit in front and a partial peplum. Shoulders became wider and padding revived again in 1983.
