Peach/pink evening dress with sequin and decorative thread embellishment, short sleeves, unique tuck shirring below bust, asymmetrical front-only peplum, fabric belt. Softly draped formal with sequin trim. Shoulder pads from World War II: influence of women taking over men's work. Skirt is straight with a slit in front and a partial peplum. Shoulders became wider and padding revived again in 1983.
Gold silk satin formal dress. Cowl neckline, bare back in V shape. Buttons down center back, ruching in center front with a sparkly broach. Gathered off the shoulder strap sleeves with sparkly broaches at shoulders. Floor length dress, darts in back. "I made this formal in a clothing class my freshman year 1936-37 in college and wore it many times and loved it. I had a 'pretty back' everyone said.
