- Worn by women married and unmarried. They drape them different so they can tell their marital status. Men do the weaving and the women spin the yarns. The temp is around 76 degrees. Garment is cool and yet warm when needed. All garments are white with a colored border. The border often denotes status. Shama is washed in the river and then allowed to dry in the the sun to whiten. Shawl can be for formal and informal wear. Vertical darts on front and back of bodice. Separating zipper in center backskirt gathered at seam of bodice. Dress and shawl have blue decorated trim. Yellowing stain around arm pits. Sleeveless.
