Blessing dress

DescriptionBaby blessing dress is made of white cotton. Dress has high waist and a very long skirt. It buttons in the back with five buttons. All but one of the buttons are missing. These are on a placket that is decorated with bobbin lace. The dress has a mandarin collar decorated with the same lace as the placket. Bodice front and back are decorated with cut work embroidery in the shapes of wagon wheels and leaves. At center front, there are two diamond shaped eyelets. Sleeves are Bishop style with narrow cuff. The cuff is decorated with the same bobbin lace as the collar. Sleeves are decorated with the same cut work embroidery as the bodice. Skirt is gathered at the waist. At the bottom there are two rows of wagon wheel cut work. The hem is done with embroidery that matches the bodice and sleeves.
